Batch mixing is slower and more labour intensive than other methods but it has a better accuracy and uniformity depending on the precision of the scale and the type of mixer.
Premix and flour are weighed separately and then mixed together during a predefined time. Time of mixing depends on the type of mixer, the granulations of the premix, and the flour.
Two-stage mixing, the vitamin-mineral-premix is first mixed with some of the flour to make a pre-blend, which is then mixed with a larger amount of flour as it flows through the system. It can be used with batch mixing system and allows more accurate fortification for shorter mixing times.
