Selection of a laboratory (lab) is crucial. You need to ensure that the lab's equipment, staff qualification and scope of work is in-line with what WFP will require from them. To evaluate lab capabilities, the process comprises 5 steps:

1. Send a questionnaire to the pre-identified lab
2. Submit this questionnaire to a qualified inspector (accredited to audit lab according to ISO 17025) who will audit the lab and check that what was written in the questionnaire matches with reality
3. Perform a ring testing exercise
4. Compare cost of analysis
5. (eventually) Check for past performance of the lab
